DITA Satisfaction Survey
Just over three-quarters of technical communication departments that have adopted the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) are satisfied with their current implementation. One in ten technical documentation shops that have adopted DITA report being dissatisfied with one or more aspects of their implementation. Common reasons for dissatisfaction are discussed later in this report, although many of the more commonly mentioned problems can be attributed to the absence of a coherent content strategy and a lack of governance. This report covers the challenges reported both by technical writers and technical publications managers. The survey was done in 2020.
